Bromazolam, or XLI-268, is a benzodiazepine (benzo) triazolo analog that was initially synthesized in 1976 but was never commercialized. Bromazolam, like alprazolam and other benzodiazepines, is a benzodiazepine but contains a bromo instead of a chloro group on its molecule. The binding affinities of this agonist at the benzodiazepine site of GABAA receptors are 2.81nM for the 1 subtype, 0.69nM for the 2, and 0.62nM for the 5.
