Deschloroketamine, or 2′-Oxo-PCM, is a new dissociative arylcyclohexylamine that goes by a number of other names. DCK is made up of a cyclohexane ring with an oxo group replaced for one of its phenyl rings. Since the absence of a functional group (in this example, “chloro”) is indicated by the prefix des- in chemistry, deschloroketamine gets its name from the fact that ketamine’s phenyl ring does not have any chlorine substituted for it.
